Sandia Mountain
Natural History Center

Join us for a natural history and tree identification trail walk in the East Mountains. Situated on 128 acres of mixed conifer forest, the center is a joint project of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science and Albuquerque Public Schools. It has hosted outdoor science programming since 1967. We will visit the recently completed museum to see specimens of the plants and animals of the area. We will then set out on a guided one/two hour-long, round-trip walk up the mountain. Fiana Shapiro, education director for the Sandia Mountain NHC, and Brandt Magic, Tree Stewards Mentor, will be our guides.
